Introduction to Sub-Domains and Domains

A sub-domain or domain is the address where visitors find your website online. Either can be also called a URL or web address.

Every new website is given a free sub-domain (e.g. www.YourName.artspan.com, www.YourName.przm.com or www.YourName.jewelspan.com).

You can also purchase a personal domain name (e.g. www.YourName.com) or take advantage of a special offer to get a domain for free as well!

Buying Your Personal Domain

Important: This information relates only to domains registered through our service. If you have registered your personal domain name somewhere else and wish to use it for your website, please see here: What if I already own a domain name?.

As a domain registrar reseller, we offer members the ability to purchase a personal domain name through us (e.g. www.YourName.com). There is an additional charge that is billed on a yearly basis. Please note that this is not a part of your membership plan that you have chosen. All domains purchased through our service are given a private WHOIS registration at no additional charge.

For any member that purchased a domain through us prior to September 21, 2007, you can continue to use us as the registrar of your personal domain, which means manage and renew it, even if you chose to cancel your membership. Therefore, you can point your personal domain (e.g. www.YourName.com) to another website hosting provider and can continue to renew through us. Please note that it is imperative to keep your billing and email information current in order to renew your personal domain when it is due to expire. If not, your domain will drop and you will no longer retain it.

For any member that purchased a domain through us after September 21, 2007, it is not possible for us to continue to be the registrar of your domain, which means manage and renew it, if you chose to cancel your membership. Therefore, if you wish to keep the domain, it is necessary to transfer your domain to another registrar before the domain's expiration date. Transferring your personal domain to another registrar means management of the domain name, including renewing it, will no longer be done through our service.
