How to Create a Simple Home Page with One Image

Example of a home page with one image:

☛ Step 1 From the Control Panel's menu, click on Pages to edit your pages.

☛ STEP 2 Click the Arrange Pages Button.

☛ STEP 3 Using your mouse, drag the Home page to the above Live Pages section, to be placed in front of the Gallery page.

☛ STEP 4 Click the pencil icon to edit the page.

☛ STEP 5 A new browser window will open with the website page editor. This is where you can add text and an image.

☛ STEP 6 Place your cursor in the text box and type a welcome message (optional), then click on the icon that looks like a landscape image. You will then see a popup window as shown here:

☛ STEP 7 Click on the “Browse” or “Choose File” icon as shown below (the button on your computer may look slightly different).

☛ STEP 8 The file manager will launch, Click on the Upload button…

☛ STEP 9 …which will enable you to browse your computer to locate the image you wish to upload (the pop-up window on your computer may look slightly different). You can drag and drop images or use the Browse function to navigate to your image folder and upload from there. Click Upload below the image.

☛ STEP 10 The image will be added to your file manager. Click on the image in your file manager and click “select.”

☛ STEP 11 Click OK.

You can then return to the toolbar and select any of the 4 alignment choices. The image will automatically be set to “align center”, but you can choose to justify left or right as well. Select the image and drag from the corners to make it bigger or smaller. You can also use these to move the placement of your text if you wish. To make changes, click on the image so you see the anchor points, or highlight your text with your mouse.

☛ STEP 12 When you are done, be sure to click Save in the upper right-hand corner. Now your Home Page is live on your website.

To see any changes live on your website, scroll to the top of your Control Panel and click on “VIEW MY SITE”.
