☛ STEP 1) Log into your Artspan Control Panel. From the Main Menu, click on My Blog.

☛ STEP 2) Along the upper, right-hand side of the Blog Dashboard, click on the button for “Export My Blog”.

☛ STEP 3) A pop-window will generate. Click on “Yes” to confirm blog export.

☛ STEP 4) You will be prompted to download and save the exported file “blogexport.xml”. Depending on your internet browser and it's settings, you'll want to follow the steps in order to save this file on your computer (and take note of the location it saved to).

☛ STEP 5) Go to www.wordpress.com and open a new account.

☛ STEP 6) During the last step within the signup process, be sure to select, “No thanks, I'll use the free address”.

☛ STEP 7) Continue the set-up process with Wordpress, which includes the registration and activation of your new Wordpress blog.

☛ STEP 8) Then return to your Wordpress.com dashboard. (You may need to click on the icon in the upper, right-hand corner).

☛ STEP 9) From the dashboard, navigate down to “Tools”, then click on “Import”.

☛ STEP 10) Scroll down and click on the link for “Wordpress”.

☛ STEP 11) Click on the button for “Choose File”.

☛ STEP 12) Next, explore your computer to the location for which you saved the file “blogexport.xml”.

☛ STEP 13) When the file has been attached successfully, click on the “Upload File and import” button.

☛ STEP 14) This next step gives you a choice on how you want to display the author for the imported Artspan posts. You can choose to have the posts display as the Artspan author or choose to have the username you chose for Wordpress. In this example, we have chosen the Wordpress author so that all author posts are uniform.

☛ STEP 15) A “processing your import” confirmation message will be displayed.

☛ STEP 16) When the import is successful, you will receive an email confirming this.

☛ STEP 17) To see the imported Artspan Blog posts live on your new Wordpress blog, click on “My Blogs”, then click on “View my Blog”.

☛ STEP 18) Now that the import has been successful, you'll want to return back to your Artspan Control Panel, click on “Website Pages” and disable the Artspan Blog from showing on your website as it is not needed now.

☛ STEP 19) Contact our technical team to redirect your new Wordpress blog to your domain. Click here to Contact Us.
