The Amsterdam Themes

The Amsterdam themes are time-tested Artspan Classics. With the Amsterdam themes we suggest that you have an attractive home page.

The following step-by-step illustrates how you would change a design or text element of your website if you're using the Amsterdam themes. Once you've clicked on “customize this theme,” you'll find an easy-to-navigate palette of tools to customize your site. Click on any color block in the menu to adjust the color of any text on your site or any section of your site. Play around, have fun, and don’t worry, because you can easily undo changes or try a new look at any time.

☛ To get started on customizing any section of your site, click on Design.

☛ Click the Customize this Theme

☛ Click on the small box that corresponds to the item you wish to change. A section of colors from the site's palette will pop up, as well as an adjustable color-picker, so you can select any color you want. Click “choose” to apply the color to your site.

☛Click on “fonts” to change text font and size.

☛ To place an image you have chosen in the background instead of simply using a color, click on Background/Logo images. Click Browse to upload your image and make sure that “Use Background Image” is checked. You can also further refine it by changing the horizontal/vertical positions via the drop-down selections and choose Tile/Stretch Effects.

☛ Click Save and Apply button to commit any changes.

☛ You might want to upload a logo to the Site Header Area. Follow the same steps you did to upload a background image. If you want to upload a banner, we suggest using 1000 x 100 pixels as a base measurement. If you upload a banner, remember to hide the site name.

☛ To hide the Site Name, erase it in “site settings.”

☛ Click the Save to commit any changes.

☛Click “Layout Options” to change the position of your navigation bar and site name.

☛Click “Gallery Display Options” to decide if you'll have square thumbnails or use the natural thumbnails of your images. (Square thumbnails appear in neater rows on your Gallery Index Page. You can also decide if you want the gallery titles to appear beneath the thumbnail or overlaid on top of it.

You can also choose, for each gallery, whether a visitor sees all the thumbnails or the first piece in the gallery, and decide between thumbnail navigation or left-and-right arrows. From the dropdown at the bottom decide if a visitor sees the gallery index page or jumps straight to the first gallery.
